      How Claude pricing works

      Individual plans. Free costs $0 with usage limits. Pro is $20 a month, or $200 billed up front for a year ($17 a month). Max comes in two tiers, 5x Pro usage for $100 a month and 20x for $200 a month. They include 100 USD/month in Claude Platform API credits and 200 USD/month in Claude Platform API credits in Claude Platform API credits respectively.

      Team. Standard seats are $25 a seat monthly or $20 billed annually. Premium seats (5x the usage of Standard) are $125 or $100. A team needs 2 to 150 seats in total and shares Up to 500 USD/month (team-level, pooled) of pooled API credits.

      Enterprise. Self-serve Enterprise is $20 a seat per month, billed annually, with a 20-seat minimum, plus usage at API rates. This calculator can’t estimate that usage; the API cost calculator covers it. Sales-assisted Enterprise and Education have no published price.

      Claude Code

      Claude Code is part of the Claude plans above, so there is no separate Claude Code price to compare.

      Pro or Max?

      Max gives 5x or 20x the usage of Pro and includes monthly Claude Platform API credits. A side-by-side comparison is planned.

      How much is Claude Pro?
      Claude Pro costs $20 per month billed monthly, or $17 per month billed annually ($200 per year, paid up front). Prices exclude tax.
      How much is Claude Max?
      Max 5x costs $100 per month and Max 20x costs $200 per month. Both are billed monthly only. They give 5x and 20x the usage of Pro.
      Does Claude Max include API credits?
      Yes. According to Anthropic’s pricing page, Max 5x includes $100/month and Max 20x includes $200/month in Claude Platform API credits.
      How much does Claude Team cost?
      Standard seats cost $25 per user per month, or $20 per month billed annually. Premium seats cost $125 per user per month, or $100 per month billed annually. Claude Team is for 2 to 150 seats.
      Is the Claude API cheaper than a Max plan?

      Is there a Claude student discount?
      Anthropic does not publish student pricing. Its Education plan is sold to universities through sales, and no price is listed, so we show it as “price not verified”.
